The UQ CHARGE-EV Project studied the driving and charging behaviour of electric
vehicle owners in Australia, and their attitudes and responses to incentives to shift the
time of their charging. It leverages the successful UQ Teslascope project launched in
2021. Non-Tesla owners were also recruited for a baseline survey to compare attitudes
and beliefs across vehicle make. The UQ CHARGE-EV Project Baseline Report
concluded that there were some differences between the characteristics of Tesla and
Non-Tesla owners but overall attitudes towards shifting the time of charging were
similar.
The Green Electricity Guide was developed to help inform Australians about which electricity retailers are really as ‘green’ as they say they are. It is the only independent analysis and ranking of the environmental performance of all electricity retailers around Australia. It is an important source of information for consumers keen to support retailers who align with their values. It is also intended to drive improved performance by retailers as Australia’s electricity system is gradually decarbonised.

This Project builds strong, coordinated, collegiate, and evidence-based advocacy for ACT small energy consumers and leverages the ACT’s early adopter role to distil and communicate lessons for other jurisdictions and the AER. It strengthens community sector capacity to ensure the transition to net zero emissions is fair, fast and inclusive.
This briefing paper has been prepared by the First Nations Clean Energy Network in preparation for the Stakeholder Workshop regarding the October 2024 electricity outage in Northern SA.
The First Nations Clean Energy network has members in the Flinders Ranges and Northern Flinders Ranges that were impacted by the power outage in October 2024. Community members experienced hardship through the loss of power – resulting in loss of food, inability to warm and cool homes, risks to medicines needing refrigeration and the costs of using personal diesel generators and the stress of the impacts of not knowing how long the outage would go for.
