The Energy Consumers Australia response to the AER preliminary position paper on the regulatory treatment of inflation supports the AER’s existing methodology with the substitution of the top of the Reserve Bank of Australia target range for the mid-point in the calculation of expected inflation. This approach best promotes the long term interests of consumers.
