This submission responds to the COAG Energy Council’s consultation on resourcing levels for consumer participation in network revenue determinations and associated regulatory processes.
Energy Consumers Australia supports the creation of a new mechanism to support high-quality consumer contributions to all processes that have a bearing on the price of energy network services.
Energy Consumers Australia’s preference is for a funding model that supports both the ongoing engagement of consumers with networks as part of business as usual operations and the ramping up of funding to facilitate expert contributions at key stages of the network determination process.
