Our submission to the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) highlights our concerns that the proposed changes to life support processes, as part of the National Energy Retail Amendment (Improving life support processes) Rule 2025, would place additional responsibility and risks onto vulnerable consumers.
Life support protections must remain fair, inclusive and reliable. Any reforms should focus on improving the processes of retailers and distributors that lead to inaccurate registers and strengthening consumer protections.
