In this submission Energy Consumers Australia notes consumer support for streamlining the process for progressing with transmission projects identified in the ISP as required in the near term without reducing the scrutiny applied to these projects. In this regard consumers place significant reliance on the AER as the representative of the long term interests of consumers.

In particular we note the AER should not defer to AEMO as the ‘experts in forecasting’ in the development of the Best Practice Forecasting Guideline.’
